Are you a teacher or librarian? Do you belong to a book club? Are you a member of a community group? Maybe you know about an upcoming event that needs keynote speakers?
I am available for school and library talks, book club visits, and community events — and we don’t even have to be in the same city to make it happen! I’m happy to appear in your classroom or living room via Skype or Google Hangouts, too! I have experience speaking in front of groups large and small, from kindergarten-age to middle school to high school to college to adults, and I can tailor my talk for as long as you would like. I would also be happy to lead a creative writing workshop with students.
Email me at firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule a school visit or a virtual author talk via Skype!
What you receive from me
I will come prepared with a ready-made presentation, which I am happy to tailor specifically to your curriculum. I especially like to talk to students about the writing process, which is ideal for English and Creative Writing classes. I also love to lead in-class writing exercises with the audience. Below are a couple videos of example classroom visits I have given:
I have a lot of experience as a keynote speaker for conferences, club meetings, and more. Below are links to some video examples of speeches I have given:
- “The Stories We Tell”: featured sermon given at Mount Diablo Unitarian Universalist Church, 2016
- “The Magic Thread”: featured sermon given at Mount Diablo Unitarian Universalist Church, 2015
- “Writing to Please Yourself”: Keynote speech at the Ventura County Writers Club meeting, 2012
