| | Dallas Woodburn Founder & President, Write On! For Literacy
Dallas Woodburn is a 2009 summa cum laude graduate of the University of Southern California with a B.A. in Creative Writing
and a minor in Entrepreneurship. She published her first book, There's a Huge Pimple On My Nose, when she was ten years old, and has been hooked on writing ever since. She is the author of a second story collection, 3 a.m., and has signed with a New York literary agent to represent her first novel manuscript. Purchase Dallas's books here.
Dallas's short fiction has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize and has appeared in numerous literary journals including Monkeybicycle, Cicada, flashquake, Eve's Harvest, The Newport Review, Page Forty-Seven, and Eclectic Flash. In addition, she has written dozens of articles for publications including
Family Circle, Writer's Digest, Motherwords, Justine, The Los Angeles Times,
and eight Chicken Soup for the Soul books. She is a staff writer for the websites GradtoGreat.com and TweenParent.com and writes the words and storyline of a monthly comic strip for the youth anti-drug magazine Listen.
Dallas has been honored as a
Liberty Mutual Responsible Scholar, a Jim Murray Memorial Foundation
Scholar for excellence in journalism, and was recently a national
finalist for both the Marshall and Mitchell Fellowships. She loves teaching writing workshops and speaking to schools and community groups about reading and writing. In addition to her work with Write On!, Dallas serves as Coordinator of the Santa Barbara Writers Conference Young Writers Program and also is on the board of the national nonprofit organization SPAWN (Small Publishers, Artists and Writers Network) as the Youth Director.

Greg Woodburn Vice President, Write On! For Literacy Founder & President, Share Our Soles
Greg Woodburn is a sophomore at the University of Southern California,
where he is majoring in History and minoring in Painting. He is a
member of the USC Track & Field team as well as the Men of Troy
cross country club. In addition to his title as Vice President of Write On! For Literacy, Greg is also the founder of Share Our Soles, a nonprofit organization dedicated to collecting, washing and donating used (but in
good condition) running shoes to underprivileged youth in distant
nations and local inner-city communities. S.O.S. aims to encourage a love
for running and in turn spread its many benefits, from positive
self-esteem and increased confidence to improved health and new
friendships. Inspired by the ancient Greek mantra "a sound mind in a sound body" Write On! For Literacy and Share Our Soles have become partner organizations.
Greg
is also a recipient of two prestigious public service awards: the
national 2007 Jefferson Award for volunteer work and public service;
and the Congressional Award Gold Medal (for public service,
self-improvement, physical fitness, and exploration) requiring in total
a minimum of 800 hours commitment.

Shane Toogood Write On! Chapter Director, Pennsylvania Shane wrote his first story in third grade about a traveling duck band, but it wasn't until eighth grade, after reading Edgar Allan Poe's The Gold Bug that he fell in love with writing. Currently obtaining his BFA in Creative Writing at Goddard College, Shane just completed studies with New Hampshire's poet laureate, Walter Butts. A 2008 graduate of the Disney College Program in Orlando, Fla., Shane was one of six student representative board members for Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Shane's articles and short stories can found in The Philadelphia Inquirer, The Communitarian (where he was executive editor for two and half years), The Acorn, the horror magazine Twisted Dreams, Pegasus, and www.Broadway.tv. Soon he and a friend will be publishing a horror zine, Tainted Tea. A recipient of the Student Government Association Scholarship, Pegasus Award and 2007 Outstanding Student Achievement Award, Shane's hobbies include traveling, going to the theatre, volunteer work (Locks of Love, Adopt-a-Highway and hurricane relief with United Way's Alternative Spring Break in Lake Charles, La) and discussing retro shows from the 80s and early 90s.
